How does Anthropic Interviewer collect and use my data?

Updated this week

This article is about Anthropic Interviewer, which is available in Claude Free, Pro, Max. Anthropic Interviewer is not currently available for our commercial products such as Claude for Work and the Anthropic API.

Anthropic Interviewer is a tool, powered by Claude, that conducts detailed user research interviews automatically and at scale. Responses enable us to understand the wants and needs of our users as well as gather data for the analysis of AI’s societal and economic impacts. Anthropic Interviewer was built to complement tools like our automated AI analysis tool, which analyzes patterns within conversations with Claude. You can learn more about Anthropic Interviewer here.

We will use your survey responses to conduct research, improve our models and services, and publish our results in accordance with how we use Feedback data. The contents of your interview will be stored in our secured back-end for up to 5 years.

If our product and research teams review your Anthropic Interview responses directly, the responses will be de-linked from your user ID (e.g., email address) during review. If we analyze responses in conjunction with account information, it will be done so in an aggregated and anonymized manner.

Only authorized Anthropic personnel with a need to know will be able to access your data. As with any conversations with Claude, Anthropic Interviewer results may be reviewed by our Trust and Safety team if flagged for violating our Usage Policy. We may email you one follow-up email to share the published findings from each research interview that you partake in.
